A shortage of nurses is impacting hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country. The American Nurses Association says there are several factors causing this decline and this shortage is impacting all types of facilities. "The demand for nurses right now appears to be outstripping the supply," said Jean Moore. Director for the Health Workforce Center at U-Albany. According to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics more than 500,000 seasoned nurses are expected to retire by 2022.
